Iceland - 2024

July of 2024, my partner and I set out to bike the Ring Road in Iceland. Just under 900 miles over the course of 3 weeks. We had months of training and a dialed in itinerary. A few days in our trip took a turn, my partner’s derailleur and derailleur hanger snapped off her bike. I've had my fair share of bikepacking trips and random mechanicals, but this was a new one. This freak accident resulted in us having to reinvent our trip. We decided our best course of action was to rent a camper van and explore the country on 4-wheels. It was a tough call, but trips like these don't always go according to plan. In those few biking days, Iceland rains took my go-to 35mm camera. Once we decided the new course of our trip, I found a deal on a 35mm SLR on Facebook Marketplace in Reykjavik. We bought the camera, picked up our van and began.

Equipment: Minolta X-700, 50mm F 1.4
